History of our City
The City of Rio Communities was incorporated in 2013. It is a city of nearly 5000 people located along the east side of the Rio Grande River in southeastern Valencia County. Rio Communities is part of the Albuquerque Metro area is about 45 minutes from the Albuquerque International Airport and downtown Albuquerque. Rio Communities is close enough for easy access to Albuquerque but far enough away to provide a more competitive cost of living and cost of doing business. The median home value for Q2 2013 in Rio Communities was $116,500 compared with $177,000 in Albuquerque. The median age of our demographics is 46.2 years with 2065 total number of households.
